Special Needs Pets

There are times when we receive pets that require additional help or services. That ranges from injuries needing extensive medical attention, to behavioral training. These pets are still loved and cared for at the Humane Society, but we need your help to ensure they receive the proper care and support to find them a forever home where they will be loved no matter their disability!
Listed below are current cases and how you can help. We appreciate every volunteer hour and every dollar that helps our special needs cases!
Jackson
Jackson is approximately a one-year-old blue heeler who was relinquished to us already blind. During his intake exam it was noted that he has a possible tear gland disorder that resulted in damage to his eyes causing him to be blind. He is a very sweet boy who loves to give kisses and be loved. He is full of spunk and adapts quickly to his new surroundings. We are currently working on touch commands to help him excel in life. In order to prevent further damage to his eyes, he had his eyes removed with your generous help! This will prevent future trauma and infections to his eyes and he can live an easier life!
Needs
He is in desperate need of a foster home to recover from his surgery! This foster would need patience and a quiet home environment. The shelter is very loud and he would benefit from one-on-one attention full-time!
